Terms of Use

These conditions apply whenever a visitor reads Ionia County Criminal History, follows a link, or uses a search feature. Using the website means agreeing to the terms below. A visitor who does not agree should discontinue use.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website is not connected to Ionia County, Michigan, or any government body. It is not a consumer reporting agency. Neither its information nor partner tools may be used for credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

1. What This Website Is

Ionia County Criminal History is an independent reference resource. It neither stores official records nor performs official checks or files documents. Its content identifies the local sheriff, district and circuit courts, Michigan State Police CJIC and ICHAT, MDOC OTIS, and Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry channels that maintain different records.

2. Rules for Using This Site

Visitors agree not to misuse the website or its information. Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Violating federal, Michigan, or local law
  • Threatening, stalking, intimidating, or harassing another person
  • Using content for an FCRA-regulated decision
  • Attempting unauthorized access to any system
  • Running bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools
  • Interfering with access, performance, or security

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information reached through this website may be used to harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, or unlawfully discriminate. Registry information deserves special care. MCL 28.734 addresses unlawful use of Michigan registry information, which exists for public safety rather than vigilantism or retaliation.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We do not create credit reports, background reports, or any consumer report defined by the FCRA. Visitors may not use website or partner information to:

  • Make a credit or lending decision
  • Evaluate employment or continued employment
  • Screen a tenant or housing applicant
  • Set insurance eligibility or price
  • Take another action governed by the FCRA

Any legally required official or regulated check must be obtained through the appropriate Michigan agency or a qualified FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

General explanations of Ionia County records are not legal advice. A licensed Michigan attorney should address how a warrant, charge, conviction, sentence, or set-aside law affects a specific situation.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are offered “as is” and “as available.” We make no warranty that:

  • Information will always be complete, accurate, or current
  • Access will be continuous or error free
  • Pages will be free from harmful code or security defects
  • A partner search will return a correct or complete match

Ionia County and Michigan records change through new filings, corrections, restrictions, and set-asides. Verify any material fact with its originating office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government offices, courts, legal resources, advertisers, or search providers that we do not operate. We are not responsible for a destination’s content, availability, price, security, privacy practices, or results. Its terms govern use after a visitor leaves this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless another owner is identified, website text, design, graphics, logos, and code belong to Ionia County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or reused without written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by Michigan law, we are not liable for loss or damage caused by use of this website, inability to use it, reliance on its content, or interaction with a linked service.

10. Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, proceedings, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from that visitor’s misuse of the website or breach of these terms.

11. Governing Law

Michigan law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute connected with website use must be brought in a Michigan court with proper jurisdiction.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms when services, practices, or legal requirements change. A revision takes effect when the updated terms are posted here.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be suspended or terminated, with or without notice, when we believe a visitor has misused the website or when continued access could harm the service or another person.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. The affected term will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
